Pune, Maharashtra, April 14 : Indian Team selected for the 1st Roll Ball World Cup 2011 Pune’s Chetan Bhandwalkar to Captain the Indian side, 7 members from Pune part of the 17 member squad to represent India,Opening Ceremony to showcase Indian Culture through song and dance
16 member Indian squad has been selected for the ‘1st Roll Ball World Cup 2011’. Adv. Abhay Chhajed, President, Roll Ball Federation of India announced the squad consisting of 12 – Players, 3- Coaches, 1 – Team Manager and 1 – Chief of Mission, who will represent India in the ‘1st Roll ball World Cup 2011’ to be held from 16th to 22nd April 2011 at the Shri. Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex at Balewadi.Adv. Abhay Chhajed, President, Roll Ball Federation of India said, “I am very pleased to announce the Indian team for the ‘1st Roll ball World Cup 2011’. It is a matter of pride that 7 members from Pune, including Captain Chetan Bhandwalkar will be representing India in the tournament.”

Mr. Raju Dabhade, Founder of the game and Secretary, International Roll Ball Federation said, “We conducted the 1st training camp in December last year and the 2nd camp is underway at Mahesh Vidyalay’s Laxminaryan Rathi Ground in Kothrud. The selected team is in very good shape being led by Captain Chetan Bhandwalkar who won the Asian Championship 2010 in Hong Kong last year”
Mr. Vasant Rathi, Chairman, Roll Ball Federation of Maharashtra & Chairman of the Organizing Committee, said,”1st Roll ball World Cup 2011 opening ceremony will be held at the Shri. Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex at Balewadi. Hon. Shri. Sunil Tatkare, Minister of Water Resource, GoM will be the Chief Guest at the event. Other dignitaries who would be present at the event include, Hon.Shri. Padmakar Valvi, Minister of Sports & Youth Welfare, GoM, Hon. Shri Mohansingh Rajpal, Mayor of Pune Municipal Corporation, Mr. Prakash Javdekar, Member of Parliament, Mr. Vilas Lande, Member of Legislative Assembly, Mr. S.S. Roy, Director, Sports Authority of India, Mr. Narendra Sopal, Director of Sports & Youth Affairs, GoM and Mr. Balasaheb Landge, General Secretary, Maharastra Olympic Association.

We also have a special performance by PRERNA BHAVAN MOTHER TERRESA MISSIONARY (Centre for children affected by AIDS) and students of Waterline academy, Trinity school of music”
