CHANDIGARH, AUG 2 ; Drona Walia of Uttrakhand claimed a double title by winning the boys singles as well as boys doubles finals in the All India Tennis Association Talent Series Tennis Tournament at the Jagadhri Club courts in Jagadhri today.
Partnering Abhimanyu Rozra, Drona Walia defeated Neeraj Yashpaul and Jagtar Arora by 6-2, 6-1 in the boys under-14 doubles final.
The duo played some good tennis and finished the match in less than one hour. Abhibhanyu served well in his service games and served 6 aces in the match. The duo dominated their opponents from the beginning and didn’t gave any chance to their opponents.
Earlier in the boys singles final, Drona Walia beat Neeraj Yashpaul of Chandigarh in straight sets 6-4, 6-3.
The girls under-14 final was a thrilling affair. Komaljeet Kaur of Chandigarh and Itika Sharma of Rajasthan traded stroke for stroke before Komaljeet clinching the title in three-closely contested sets by 6-4, 6-7 (3), 7-5.
