CHANDIGARH, OCT 24 : Punjab Police of Jalandhar will complete their league programme when they meet Rail Coach Factory of Kapurthala tomorrow in the 28th JCT Punjab State Super Football League at the Sri Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, in Jalandhar.
Punjab Police are at the third place with 23 points after playing 13 matches and winning six, drawing five and losing two. United Punjab Football Club of Mahilpur have also 23 points from six wins and five draws and two defeats in 14 matches.
Punjab Police will be needing a desperate win against Rail Coach Factory if they was to move to second position. United Punjab hav 20 points in favour and 12 against for a goal difference of +8. Punjab have also scored 20 goals and conceded 17 for a goal difference of +7.
RCF are at the sixth place. They have so played 13 matches, won three, drew 7 and lost three. They have scored 13 goals and conceded 15 for a goal difference of -2.
The last match between Jagatjit Cotton Textile Mills Academy of Phagwara and Border Security Force and the closing ceremoney, which were scheduled for October 26 have been postponed. Fresh daates will be announced soon
BSF are at the fourth place in the eight-team super league with 21 points. from five wins, six draws and two defeats. They so far scored 12 goals in 13 outings and conceded 8for a goal difference of + 4.
JCT Academy have also played 13 matches and are at the fifth spot with 18 points. They have 14 goals in favour and 13 against with a goal difference of +1.
Dalbir Football Academy of Patiala are sitting pretty at top and have virtually emerged champions with 28 points from eight wins, four draws and two defeats. Their goal difference is +12 as they have scored 21 goals and conceded 9 in 14 matches. Their position will not change despite the last two matches (Punjab Police vs RCF and JCT Aademy vs BSF) remaining in the Super League.
