Commenting on the state budget, Mr Akash Garg, Chairman, CII Himachal Pradesh expressed satisfaction over acceptance of CII’s demand for formation of an “Investment Promotion Cell” and “Industry Advisory Council” in the state. Mr Garg opined that this would facilitate collective efforts from the stakeholders for positioning the state as a preferred investment destination. Mr Garg also welcomed the efforts for augmenting the railway connectivity to Baddi and greenfield airport for Shimla.
Mr Arun Rawat, Vice Chairman, CII Himachal Pradesh expressed satisfaction over focus on agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, dairy, hydro energy and tourism as projected interventions in these areas would help in unleashing the vast potential of the state. Mr Rawat also complimented the government for its focus on skill development initiatives especially formation of “Skill Development Society”.
Mr Sanjay Kurana, Convenor, CII HP Panel on Economic Affairs welcomed the deduction in excise duty, proposals to simplify administration of taxes, movement of goods at barriers and incentives for new investments in stamp duty, electricity duty along with strengthening of Single Window System. Mr Khurana opined that this would facilitate in attracting investments for the state.
