Chandigarh, December 27-Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda has commended the contribution of Japanese companies in the progress of Haryana State adding that Haryana today is home to a large number of Japanese companies and nearly 33 per cent investment in Haryana comes from Japanese companies.
These views were expressed by Mr Hooda, while welcoming the Prime Minister of Japan, Mr. Yoshihiko Noda on the occasion of Announcement of India-Japan Global Partnership Summit-2013, scheduled to be held in New Delhi in February, 2013.
Mr Hooda said that the economic growth indicators of Haryana have been impressive with the achievement of annual growth rate of 9.9 per cent, which is higher than the national growth. Haryana has the highest per capita income in the country after Goa and is manufacturing a number of products like passenger cars, mobile cranes, earth movers, two-wheelers, tractors. Gurgaon-Manesar-Bawal region in Haryana has acquired the position of an auto hub of the country.
Mr Hooda said that the presence of large number of manufacturing companies like Suzuki and Honda is a testimony to Haryana’s progressive industrial policy and the sound infrastructure facilities. We appreciate the faith reposed in us by our Japanese partners and assure them of our continued support and encouragement.
Describing Japan as a partner in Delhi-Mumbai-Industrial Corridor (DMIC) project, Mr Hooda said that Haryana has planned a number of initiatives to tap the opportunities emerging from this project. Mr Hooda also mentioned about his visit to Japan in the month of September, 2011 with a delegation to India-Japan Global Partnership Summit held in Tokyo. He also recalled his meeting with the Prime Minister Mr Noda and sharing of views on issues of mutual interest with him.
Mr Hooda invited the Japanese Prime Minister to visit Haryana to catch a glimpse of its development.
Union Railway Minister, Mr Dinesh Trivedi, well-known advocate and MP Mr Ram Jethmalani, Chief Minister of Jharkhand Mr Arjun Munda, Minister from Himachal Pradesh Dr Ajay Mittal, a number of Members of Parliament and business leaders were present on the occasion.
