Chandigarh, March 16- Haryana Governor, Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki will inaugurate the Bharat Kesri Dangal-2016, a free-style wrestling competition, which is being organized for the first time in the history of Haryana with highest ever cash prizes. This event will be organized at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Gurgaon from March 21 to 23 to commemorate the memory of great martyrs namely Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev.
In the Closing Ceremony of this event, Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal would be the Chief Guest. Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Mr Anil Vij and MLA Gurgaon, Mr Umesh Agarwal would also grace the occasion. Secretary General, Indian Olympic Association, Mr Rajiv Mehta and President,Wrestling Federation of India, Mr Brijbhushan Sharan Singh have been invited as guests of honour on the closing ceremony of Bharat Kesri Dangal-2016.
While giving this information, Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Mr Anil Vij said that the Dangal is being organized by the state government with the collaboration of Indian Olympic Association and Wrestling Federation of India. During the event, if any wrestler found positive in dope test, actions would be taken against him as per rules. The participating wrestlers of various states would have to mandatorily get themselves registered on March 20 at the venue of the event.
Mr Vij said that the winner of the Dangal would get a cash prize of Rs one crore, first runner up would get a cash prize of Rs 50 lakh and the second runner up wrestler would be awarded a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh. The wrestler securing the fourth position would get incentive money of Rs ten lakh, Rs five lakh would be given for securing fifth position, Rs three lakh for securing sixth position, Rs two lakh for securing seventh position and Rs one lakh for securing eighth position.
The Sports Minister said that the minimum age of participating wrestlers should be 17 years and above, as on January 1, 2016, with 80 kg and more weight. Only those wrestlers could participate in this event, who have won medals in any weight category of wrestling in the last three years.
