CHANDIGARH, AUG 13 : Badminton Association of India has appointed Surinder Mahajan as coach of the Indian team which will compete in the Youth Asian Games to be held at Nanzing China from August 17 to 21, according to BAI vice president TPS Puri, who is also general secretary of the Chandigarh Badminton Association.
The Indian team comprises Harshildani, Aditya Joshi, Rituparna Das and Reshma Kartika. The team will leave from Delhi on August 15.
Surinder Mahajan is a senior badminton coach of Sports Authority of India and at present is posted at Panjab University, Chandigarh.
Earlier. Mahajan had been given many prestigious consignments with Indian teams in various international tournaments, including Asian, Commonwealth and World Championships etc. It may be
recalled Mahajan accompanied Indian team in Youth Commonwealth Games held at Isle of Man (England) last year where PVSindhu won gold medal in singles.
CBA president M.C. Sethi has congratulated Mahajan on his appointment at coach of the Indian team.
