CHANDIGARH, JAN 29:APJ School of Kharar defeated Shivalik Public School by 112 runs in the Mohali leg of the Coca Cola Cricket Cup for Under-16 here today.
Batting first after winning the toss, APJ piled up 208 for 6 in 35 overs. Himanshu and Ashish were their main scorers with 76 and 55 runs, respectively. Sahil and Jaspreet got two wickets each for 20 and 38 runs, respectively.
In reply, Shivalik Public School were dismissed for 96 in 32 overs. Jaskaran made 21. Swetal (2 for 6), Hadil ( 2 for 6) and Manish (2 for 11) shared the wickets for APJ.
In the second match, Yadvindra Public School defeated Government College by five wickets. Put in to bat after YPS had won the toss, Government School were all out for 80 in 23 overs. Ankit contributed 25 and Sonu made 11. Apram was the wrecker-in-chief of Government Schools innings with a five wickets haul for 9 rund. Yashraj got 2 for 15.
Y P S easily achieved their victory target by scoring 81 for 5 in 25 overs. Arbaz scored 22 and Apram remained not out on 22. For Government school Dheeraj took 3 wickets for 14 runs . Y P S won by 5 wickets .
A P J School topped in Mohali District by winning all three matches. Shivalik School finished runners-up with two wins. Y P S came third with just one win. A P J qualifies for next round of inter-district.
