INDIANAPOLIS, JUNE 1 : The American Cricket Federation (ACF) honoured Alicia Porter of Canada with “Spirit of Cricket” award at the just concluded 4th Annual Atlanta Women’s T20 Cricket Championship held in Atlanta, Georgia, this past Memorial Day Weekend, according to ACF media release.
Porter is a member of the CanAm United XI which competed in the championship final against New York based Atlantis Cricket Club. Atlantis emerged champions for the third year in succession.
Ms. Porter demonstrated the true spirit in which the game of cricket should be played throughout the tournament, and according to one of the judges, was the embodiment of what the sport needs at all times.
The ACF award was part of the “Women’s Cricket Awareness Week – 2014” in the USA, an event driven by the organization as part of its ACF women’s cricket initiative which kicked off one month ago.
The American Cricket Federation is proud once again, to have been one of the sponsors of the premier women’s cricket event in the United States. The women’s tournament has been successfully staged for the past four years in Atlanta, GA.
The ACF has extended hearty congratulations to Alicia.
