By Ankur Vadhera, Chandigarh, June 9 The first Chandigarh Junior State Netball Championship started at The British School, sector 44 Chandigarh today.
Speaking at the event the chief guest Dr. Rakesh Malik, Deputy Director, Sports Department, Panjab University, Chandigarh exhorted the efforts of Ranjan Sethi, President, Netball Sports Promotion Association Chandigarh and principal The British School in holding this event.
Ranjan Sethi said that the two-day championship is aimed at promoting netball players and acknowledge their performances. He added that total eight teams of boys and seven teams of girls are participating in this two day netball championship.
He added that the Chandigarh Netball teams of boys and girls will be selected during this state netball championship. No separate trials will be conducted. Selected teams will participate in the Junior National Netball Championship which is scheduled to be held at Chandigarh from June 25 to June 28.

Boys: The British Academy, Sec 44 beats Ryan International, Sec 49 by 17-7.
Moti Ram Arya Coaching Centre beats GMSSS, 20 by 12-5.
The British School, Sec 44 beats Ryan International, Sec 49 by 16-0.
Moti Ram Arya Coaching Centre beats Majestic Club, 47 by 18-16.
Girls:
ACE Club, 27 beats GMSSS, 20 by 14-5.
GMSSS, 20D beats GMSSS 20 by 7-4.
Ace Club beats Ryan International, Sec 49 by 10-0.
GMSSS, 20D beats Ryan International, Sec 49 by 8-1.
