Rajesh vakharia : The ongoing debate pertaining to the newly proposed anti-rape law clearly exposes the male hatred in the feminist camp and the women organizations, including the Women and Child Development ministry. The proposed Sexual Assault Bill, prepared by the Ministry of Home Affairs which was subsequently converted into the Rape Ordinance is being opposed by the women organizations only because it provides protection to male victims of sexual assault, especially from female sexual offenders.
This stance of women organizations clearly shows the inherent gender bias they carry and do not want men and boys to be protected either from incidents of sexual assault or from false accusations. Allowing such organizations and ministries to hijack the law making process and hold the society at ransom is a very dangerous practice.
The Government of India must not listen to them. Men’s rights activists have been demanding gender neutral law since a very long time and by passing the gender neutral rape ordinance, the Government took a step in the right direction. Now, the Government must not undo the benevolent effort by making the law back to being gender biased, and sparing the female sexual offenders.
Men’s Rights Activists all over India unanimously demand the following,
1. The law must be named as Sexual Assault Law and not Rape Law.
2. To prevent misuse, false cases and to protect innocent men, very strong misuse clause must be introduced.
3. The law must be gender neutral to provide for male victims of sexual assault and to prosecute female sexual offenders.
India demands gender neutral law.
