Chandigarh , January 21, 2012: To know God and realize His real entity is to worship Him in real sense. This is the first step that takes one above all kinds of rites and rituals and bestows him with divine virtues that make life beautiful and the atmosphere pleasant.
This was stated by Rev. Mohinder Singh Ji Parmukh Chandigarh Branch that His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, Head of the Sant Nirankari Mission while addressing a huge gathering of devotees of the Mission on the first day of the 45th Annual Nirankari Sant Samagam of Mumbai Maharashtra. The 3-day Samagam is being attended by lakhs of devotees from all over the state as also from various parts of the country and delegates expressed their views about the different aspects of the Mission’s ideology through songs, poems and speeches in different languages such as Marathi, Hindi, Punjabi, Sindhi, Gujarati, Rajasthani, Nepali and so on.
Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj said that God Almighty is the supreme source of divine virtues such as love, compassion, tolerance, large-heartedness, goodwill and understanding and all these qualities adorn the life of the man who links himself with him. He ceases to discriminate against others on the basis of religion, caste, creed and colour as also the considerations of languages, region and culture. This gives him all the advantages of unity in diversity. The feelings of universal brotherhood are strengthened which leads to peace and prosperity for self as well as others.
Baba Ji said that saints, Gurus and prophets have been giving this message to man since ages. But he is more concentrated on reading and reciting rather than following the same. The darkness of ignorance is so deep that it was always a challenge to them. They had to face opposition and then make all kinds of sacrifices. He said that just as the stream of water flows downwards automatically, man’s negative tendencies are also taking him towards downfall without any effort. Even today saints are, therefore, repeating their teachings so that man understands the same, sheds negativity and adopts positivity in life.
His Holiness said that man has made considerable progress in science and technoloty and discovered and invented such gadgets which were considered impossible or a deram only. But his instincts have not changed so far and he continues to follow the negative tendencies of hatred, jealousy, intolerance and violence. Instead of raising the fallen, he is hurting others. He is guided more by ego and self interest rather than the welfare of all. NO doubt he has put his footprints on the moon, he is yet to learn walking on the earth. The values of humanity and goodwill are yet to be seen in his behaviour. Hence even today saints are making every effort to awaken him towards his most essential aspect of his life. This is the objective of such Samagams being held by the Mission not only in different parts of India but all over the world.
Sewa Dal Rally
A colourful rally organized by thousands of its volunteers in uniform marked the beginning of the Samagam on its 2nd day today. These volunteers have come from all over Maharashtra and some other parts of the country to make arrangements for the boarding and lodging of the devotees and providing all other facilities for the Samagam. Today they presented physical exercises and a cultural programme dedicated to the theme of selfless service towards the Mission as also the mankind. They rededicated themselves to voluntary service and sought the benign blessings of His Holiness for the same.
Blessing the Sewadal volunteers, Baba Ji complimented them for their spirit of discipline, dedication and devotion. He said that these volunteers have their own responsibilities towards the family and the society, but they always give preference to service of fellow devotees whenever there are such Samagams or even smaller congregations. They are ready to serve not only the Mission but the mankind as such particularly in the event of natural calamities. They also come forward for rescue and the rehabilitation of the victims of violence or bloodshed created by man himself.
