PASIGHAT, Nov 5: Jagadhatri Puja is also an important religious festival of Hindus. It is celebrated every year on the ninth day of the bright fortnight of Kartika (October-November). It is a special socio cultural celebration and considered as a major autumn event of Hindus and Devi is worshipped as the provider of wealth, good-luck as well as prosperity. Maata Jagadhatri is also believed to be the form of supreme goddess Durga and symbolizes victory over evils setting peace on earth.
Believers residing in Pasighat celebrated the Puja/festival at Anandamoyee Kalibari with pomp and religious gaiety. Thousand thronged to participate in the festivity and offered pujas and many senior citizens and prominent personalities also joined the festivity. MP Ninong Ering and local MLA and Bosiram Siram conveyed their wishes and greetings.
