By Ali Faiz : Doda : Like other parts of the country, Eid Milad-ul-Nabi (SAW) was today celebrated with full reverence, devotion and religious fervour in Doda and other parts of the District including Bhaderwah, Thathri, Ghat, Bhagwah, Gandoh, Assar, Bharath, Gundna, Dessa, Kashmir and Jammu & Kashmir as well. The day marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (SAW). On this occasion, the biggest congregation was held at Jamia Masjid Doda where devotees in large number offered special prayers.
The programme was started with the recitation of Holy Quran and thereafter various children recited the NAATS.
Speaking on the occasion, Imam Jamia Masjid Doda Khalid Najeeb Suharwardy described Islam as the religion of peace and said the Holy day marks the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), whose life was an embodiment of love, equality and brotherhood. Meanwhile, Suharwardy also greeted the people on Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) and hoped that this auspicious occasion would be a harbinger of harmony, peace, progress and prosperity in the District and State as well.
However similar kinds of eid celebration was also celebrated across the chenab valley region including Kishtwar, Warwan, Paddar, Ramban, Batote, Banihal, Gool other major parts of the region with great religious and enthusiastic fervor while District Police has made special security arrangements during this auspicious occasion.
