Mohali : The election campaign of Balbir Singh Sidhu, Congress Candidate from Mohali got further impetus today when a large no of Industrialists from Mohali extended their unconditional support to him. Today Sidhu visited various Mohali Industries where he addressed the Industrial workers and the owners. Mr. BL Goel, owner of one of the factories said that it was very unfortunate that Industry was totally ignored by the present Akali Government. No effort was made to promote it and over it new taxes like Institutional Tax was imposed on those Industrialist who had for want of space had moved their factories on the outskirts. Mr. Anurag Aggarwal , Sr Vice President Mohali Industries Association, said that Industry was looking forward to taking off under the new Congress regime. He said that their has been no initiative under the Akalis and the infrastructure position in the focal points was so bad that we were ashamed to invite our customers to our factories. The industry is still smarting under the incentives given to the neighbouring state of HP by the coalition partner BJP of the Akalis and is yet to fully recover from that. He said that in his estimation more than 85% industrialists in Mohali have extended their unconditional support to Mr. Balbir Sidhu. They are looking forward to Mr. Sidhu trouncing his rivals with the highest margin in the whole of Punjab.
Mr. Sidhu, thanking them for their overwhelming support said that he will ensure that new industry of the scale of Mahindra & Mahindra comes to Mohali and Mohali emerges as the Industry capital of the state. He said that he shall ensure timely completion of all pending projects in the city and that the International Airport becomes operational soon. He would work towards rationalizing of arcane laws of PSIEC and sales tax barrier concerns of the industrialists. For the industial workers he said that he shall work towards solving their housing problem by giving impetus to EWS housing. The Balongi village shall be included in the Municipal Council so that better facilities can be provided. He said that he himself was an industrialist first and was fully conversant with the problems of the workers and the owners. He is local and permanent resident of Mohali and was 24X7 available to the members of constituency. Ram Kumar, worker in one of the factory spontaneous broke into tears and thanked Mr. Sidhu profusedly for helping him out in his daughters wedding last year. He assured that all migrant labours in the region recognized him and shall vote for him.
