Chandigarh, December 25- Haryana Chief Minister Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda today predicted victory of the Congress party in all the five states that are going to the poll in January, February and March 2012. This he said, would be due to its pro-people policies and programmes.
Mr Hooda, who was talking to mediapersons after redressing the grievances of the people at Irrigation Rest House, Rohtak today, said that under the able guidance of UPA chairperson Mrs Sonia Gandhi, the Congress party was following the principles of Mahatma Gandhi and it was of the opinion that the last person standing in a queue should also get his due.
Replying to the questions of the mediapersons, Mr Hooda said that two states Manipur and Goa had already Congress governments and Congress party was in a strong position in three other states Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab. Given the political scenario of all the five states, the Congress party would be victorious in the Vidhan Sabha election of all the five states.
In reply to a question regarding election campaign, Mr Hooda said that if any state invited him for election campaign, he would definitely go there and would tell the people that Haryana had progressed rapidly during the last seven years because of path-breaking policies and programmes introduced by the Congress party in the state. In many sectors of development Haryana had already become a front runner state.
Regarding self sufficiency in power sector in Haryana, he said that efforts were being made to make it self reliant in power by the year 2012-13. During the last six years, power generation in the state had increased by 4000 MW. In view of fast increasing demand for power, power plants were being set up on large scale. Construction work of new power plants was going on speedily to generate additional 6950 MW power. Haryana would not have to purchase power from other states in the times to come.
Mr Hooda said that survey was being conducted to set up a cargo airport in district Rohtak.Whenever a big project was set up, the people of the nearby areas were benefitted.
The Chief Minister extended his warm greetings and felicitation to the people on the occasion of the Christmas and wished that the festival might bring prosperity and happiness for the people.
