Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan reached Salkanpur today where he performed pooja of Maa Vijayasen Devi with her wife and sought the deity’s blessings for public welfare and daughters’ progress. The Chief Minister has urged residents of the state to light at least one lamp for the prosperity of daughters on the pious occasion of Deepawali.
Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that he has lighted two lamps today at Maa Vijayasen Dham. One of them is for the state’s development and public welfare and another one for daughters’ prosperity.
The Chief Minister appealed to residents of the state to play active part in Beti Bachao Abhiyan. Describing daughters as nature’s gift, he said that there will be no future if there is no daughter. Consider daughters as boon and not a burden. He said that for improving sex ratio, every newly wed couple should take a pledge that they will not prevent daughter from taking birth. He said the daughter has the same right as son to take birth. For this, men will have to change their mindset and women will have to become aware to firmly oppose killing of female embryo. The Chief Minister informed that Beti Bachao Abhiyan is a positive campaign launched in the state for this purpose, which will be made successful through coordinated efforts.
Forest Development Corporation Chairman Shri Guruprasad Sharma, Warehousing Corporation Chairman Shri Rajendra Singh Rajput, Sohagpur MLA Shri Vijaypal Singh, local people’s representatives and devotees were present on the occasion.
