National Students Welfare Association (A Regd. NGO) has extended its frontiers throughout the state by extending Regional Committees for Kashmir. The Regional Committees of the state has been formed by the organisation unanimously by passing a resolution by the executive members of the association, Mr. Parvaiz Khan has been appointed as President Kashmir Chapter, Tanveer Ahmed Lone as General Secretary, Akhter Mohidin as Secretary, Sajad Lone as Cashier. The newly constituted unit has been entrusted the responsibility to work on the locations of Kashmir for the fulfillment of the objectives of the organisation.
Established in 1996 at improvised town of Bhalessa, Doda in Jammu region, NSWA is an organization that represents not only the students, but communities at large, including Youth, Women, Rural, urban, masses of Jammu region. Their outreach plans include Education, health care, Children care, Orphan welfare, counseling, adult day care, respite care, meals-on-wheels, Vocational training, skill development and competence, Environmental awareness, sports promotion, community development, rural and urban development, Cultural preservation, Research, archaeological and demographic studies, Tribal welfare, etc.
NSWA came in to existence primarily as SWAB- Students Welfare Association Bhalessa at Bhalessa Doda, Jammu & Kashmir. The SWAB was designated as NSWA as a National level voluntary moment for the cause of mutual concept and educational popularization.
The NSWA organizes series of mass cultivation programmes in the field of education, health, environment, sports, cultural preservation and vocational training. The NGO has chapters in every district of Jammu region and Regional unit at Srinagar also.
It is an Indian NGO for Social Services, Indian Child Welfare Services, and Welfare for the Rural Indian Woman, Rural Education and Self Employment. An organization committed to the overall development of rural India. NSWA exposes youth to the myriad development challenges that India faces today. It has a National Youth campaigns, programmes, honours, policies for youth empowerment.
The founder, chairman NSWA, Sadaket Malik, was moved by the plight of the rural poor and innocent people and decided to establish an Organisation which supports all spheres of rural life and empowers rural community. Speaking in an election ceremony, Mr. Sadaket Malik said that NSWA has a distinction in organizing free education, free literacy, Orphans welfare, Health, environment, Cultural heritage, educational, and disaster management programmes in the entire state and chacked out the programmes for the kashmir valley.
The newly inducted members assured full cooperation for organization of welfare activities in Kashmir Valley.
