Lucknow : January 10,The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Ms. Mayawati discussed in detail several important schemes to be launched for the welfare of people of the State at a high level meeting held at her official resident here today.
During the meeting, all such sectors were discussed which were important for the development of the State and which had been overlooked by previous governments, due to which development of state was badly affected. She said that her government could not overlook any problem which could affect development of the State. She held detailed discussions with the officers for the development of the State and directed them to formulate some schemes that could be presented to the people of the state as a gift on the occasion of her birthday on January 15.
The Chief Minister also discussed with senior officers several critical gaps in human resource development sector and sought their suggestions in this connection. She made it clear that efforts should be made to remove such critical gaps and if needed new schemes be prepared for removal of these gaps. She directed the Principal Secretary Finance that money should not be constraint in running such schemes under any circumstances. She also directed that despite limited financial resources new programmes, which could give, thrust to the development of the State be launched to solve problems. She directed that such programmes should be formulated immediately and put before her, so that these could be launched on January 15, 2009 in the interest of people.
It may be recalled that last year the Chief Minister Ms. Mayawati announced launching of several important public welfare schemes on the occasion of her birthday which included Ganga Expressway and setting up of 4,000 MW power project in energy sector in Lalitpur district with the cooperation of NTPC. She also took the decision to bring all BPL families of the state under Health Insurance Scheme, with the provision of the facility of free treatment up to Rs. 30,000 in a year. Similarly, announcement was made to establish several high level hospitals and colleges in NOIDA and Greater NOIDA separately for boys and girls. The works on them is going on speedily and these works will be completed very soon.
The Chief Secretary Mr. Atul Kumar Gupta, Cabinet Secretary Mr. Shashank Shekhar Singh, Additional Cabinet Secretary Mr. Vijay Shanker Pandey, Principal Secretary Finance Mr. Anoop Mishra were present besides, senior officers of CM’s Secretariat and several important departments.
