Chennai , 14 Oct : Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA), a premier b-school in India was awarded the recognized Dewang Mehta Award instituted by Onward Foundation for the Best HR Academic Input (Syllabus) and the Best Placement Brochure at the 16th Business School Affaire, India’s largest business school contest. The contest was held as part of the Asian Brand Congress, Taj Lands End, Mumbai where close to 100 b-schools had participated.
The Best HR Academic Input (Syllabus) in a management school was shared with other management institutes such as XLRI, TISS and SCMHRD. The HR Club at LIBA consists of various small clubs like finance, marketing, quizzes, student affairs and post-budget analysis, where students entirely manage and coordinate events/discussions.
The Placement Brochure from LIBA was awarded for informative, precise and creative presentation. Based on the five elements of nature (earth, wind, fire, water and sky) the brochure details LIBA’s history, international associations, activities beyond curriculum, conferences and career opportunities for students.
On receiving the award, Fr. P. Christie, Director, LIBA said, “We are indeed happy to have received this award. It is the first time that LIBA has received a Dewang Mehta Award. The challenge for us is to receive it every year. This, we believe is possible since we at LIBA constantly redesign and restructure our curriculum, making it relevant to meet the needs of the rapidly changing business environment. Our students are equipped with managerial concepts and skills to face the challenges ahead of them and embrace change with a positive attitude. The Industry-Institute interactions conducted at LIBA facilitate students and faculty alike to gain business insights from the experience of business leaders.”
