1 Mar :The stage is set for the 10-day national drama festival which will begin in Thiruvananthapuram from 2nd March.Plays from different languages from states including Chhattisgarh, Manipur, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and other dramas in Japanese and English languages would be staged during the event organised by the Information and Public Relations Department, official sources said.
The specialty of the festival is the predominance of women directors.The plays of Veenapani Chawla (Hare and Tortoise), Sulekha Chadhury (On seeing), Neelam Mansingh (The Suit), Mayakrishna Rao (Heads are meant for walking in two) are some of the attractions at the festival.
Eminent directors Habeen Tanweer (Charandas Chor), Kanhaiya Lal (Tak Kahar), Shanmukha Raja (Kuthiramuttai) and Sankar Venkateswaran (Sahyante Makan) are also participating in the festival.
