By Raj Kumar, Ludhiana : A host of the top faculty of DMC & H Ludhiana were present at the launch of Zindagi Live Foundation- an NGO supporting blood donation and thalassemia. The first project under taken by Zindagi Live Foundation was the treatment of 30 down trodden thalassemic kids suffering from Hepatitis C. The treatment of first batch of 15 sweet innocent children has started today. Sh. Prem Gupta secretary, Managing Society, DMC&H was the chief guest. He lauded the efforts of Zindagi Live Foundation for this noble cause. And reiterated DMC&H would continue their whole hearted support. Others present included Dr.Daljit Singh, Principal DMC&H, Dr. Jagdeep Whig, Vice-Principal, Dr. Sandeep Puri, M.S. Dr. B.S. Shah, M.S., Dr. R.S. Chinna, Dean Academics, Dr. Ajit Sood, HOD, Gastro and Dr. (Mrs.) P.C. Sobti, Professor Paediatrics appraised the efforts of the Zindagi Live Foundation for this noble cause.
Mr. Surinder Kumar, Regional Manager, Roche Products India Ltd. also appreciated the efforts of Zindagi Live Foundation and announced free of cost medicines for the treatment of 15 children on the company’s behalf. Zindagi Live Foundation and all those present lauded the generous contribution of Roche Products India Ltd. for this act of philanthropy.
Sh. V.S. Jindal from Nikhil Singhal Noble Trust Ludhiana, Sh. Sanjeev Rai from Vijay Paul Charitable Trust Ludhiana and Mrs. Komal Aggarwal from Punjab Thalassemic Welfare Society, Ludhiana have also pledged substantial monetary support for Zindagi Live Foundation keeping in mind the high magnitude of repetitive expenditure involved in the treatment of the poor, deserving and needy children.
Speaking on the behalf of Zindagi Live Foundation Mr. Yogesh Gupta, Gen. Sec. pledged the NGO’s full commitment for treatment of the remaining 15 children. The cost of which is estimated to be approximately 40 Lakhs for which an appeal is made to donate generously (Mr. Rajesh Kapoor at 98141-44544 & Vimal Kapoor at 94630-74745). The foundation would also sponsor the transfusion and medicine of thallaseemic poor kids. Alongwith creating awareness to eradicate thallesemia. Voulntary Blood camps would also be organized to meet the demand of these thallaseemic kids. First Blood Donation Camp shall be organized 20th December, 2011 at Rajkarni Mahashakti Sr. Sec. School, Gandhi Nagar, Ludhiana.
Sh. Ashok Marwha, Chairman of Zindagi Live Foundation presided over the programme. Also present were Mr. Vimal Kapoor, Mr. Balram Mehta, Mr. Urinder Singh, Mr. Kapil Arora, Anand Jha, Ashish Dhanda, Sachin Kapoor , Bhupinder Singh, Amrit Pal, Amit Puri representing the foundation also contributed with valuable support.
