Amritsar, 16 Apr : A UK based doctor Dr Manpreet Kaur gifted a new device of ‘Fibre Optics’ to the ‘Global Institute of Childhood Disabilities’, (GICD) Amritsar on the occasion of the “6th Annual Day” celebration by the School for Special children.
Mr Arun Khanna Chairman and Mrs Prerna Khanna Principal and Special educator of the School informed that ‘fibre optics’ device was gifted by the UK doctor to the GICD and is very useful for giving Therapy to children suffering from Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder and Learning Disability . The device helps to improve balance, attention span and make the child more aware about surroundings as also helpful in improving child’s activity level.
The GICD has also procured one more new device namely ‘Vestibulator’ that similarly helps children with above mentioned disabilities.
The celebrations were inaugurated by Rotarian Man Mohan Jerath, District Governor (RID 3070). A ‘Havan’ was performed and the special children wore dresses depicting fruits and vegetables.
A specialized Institute for Special Children GICD it deals with children with cerebral palsy, Autism, Mental Retardation and Multiple Disabilities.
