Chandigarh, September 17 : While taking a serious note of immature statements and misguiding the people of the state over the power surplus status, Congress Leader of Opposition Sunil Jakhar lashed out over the Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal for his tall claims of the Power surplus, whereas the traders and people of the state have been facing the power cuts regularly.
While issuing the statement, Sunil Jakhar also revealed that Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal had assured the Vidhan Sabha onJuly 17that the conditions of power cuts will improve within 15 days and had also claimed that the people of the state will get 24 hour power supply. He said that though the requirement of the power supply has come down due to the sufficient rainfall but various sections of the traders and people has unrest due to the continuous power cuts.
Leader of Opposition Sunil Jakhar also criticized Deputy CM for his words that the congress led Central Government has not supplied the sufficient coal for the power plants of the state. He also raised the question mark over the deputy chief Minister claims that there is NDA government at the central level, so there will be no dearth of coal for the power plants of Punjab, Jakhar said that Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal must clear the position of the state government related to the power shortage or other problems in the fulfilling the people demands.
He said that the Akali Government had assured the power surplus state within three years Since the Assembly election of 2007, now seven years has been over but State Government could not even fulfill the demands of the people instead of making of the Power surplus. He said that all promises that Punjab will become on of the states, who will sell their power to other state proved to be day dreams of Badal’s regime.
