RAJPURA 4 April, 2008 :Aryans Business School (ABS), Chandigarh organized industrial visit for its MBA students. Around 60 MBA students visited Rajpura plant of US based Cargill India (P) Ltd. Company, Rajpura. Students visited various departments of the company including Manufacturing, Marketing, Human Resources, Research & Development and Finance. The purpose of the visit was to make students aware of the various practical management aspects.
Mr. Jason Park, General Manager (Cargill Animal Nutrition), interacted with the students in the company. He told the students about the company that it is 150 years old USA based company with its head office in Iowa (U.S.A) having operations in more than 60 countries of the world. After that Mr. Mohan Kumar, Production Manager of the company explained the students about the whole production process and various stages involved in production of animal feed. He also showed students samples of raw material used in preparing the feed such as corns, residuals from extraction of groundnut oil, mustard oil etc. The students were allowed to have a look into the various stages involved in the process of manufacturing of animal feed. Each group was accompanied by an official from the company who explained each and every stage of the process involved.
Anshu Kataria, Chairman, ABS said that such industrial visits would enhance the practical knowledge about management. The various management concepts being taught in the classrooms get clarified after experiencing them physically in the industry itself. He added that such visits would continue to be there for MBA/PGDM students so that they can learn the concepts with a better approach.
It was a professional life experience for the students of ABS. They also put up various queries relating to management fundas to the departmental heads & got answers for the same. Industrial visit was an excellent opportunity for the students to understand the complexities faced by companies in various stages.
