There is no leader who can match Modi’s caliber – Badal
Pardeep Luthra, Pathankot, 18 April 2014: ‘Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is incapable of even leading a PCC, and Congress dreams of him being a future PM,’ says Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal during a press conference in Pathankot on Friday. Before the press conference, Shri Badal also addressed a huge rally in Mirthal region of Pathankot where he spoke about the excellent work done by Shri Vinod Khanna as a three time MP and appealed people to vote for Mr. Khanna.
Making a scathing attack on the incumbent MP Prakash Singh Bajwa of the Congress, he said ‘If Bajwa wanted to work for the development of the people in this region; he would have worked with us in getting projects from his government at the center. Instead, he ensured we didn’t get any, because of his ego and petty politics,’. However, he said, this will change and with Modi as the PM sand Vinod Khanna as the MP, this region will see development and prosperity.
Speaking of BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Shri Narendra Modi, he said, ‘Modi will be the PM of the country and everybody is waiting for the day.’ He said, during Congress rule, one has witnessed poverty, inflation and corruption, all in one package. He also attacked Congress and held them responsible for the issue of rampant drug addiction in the state. He said ‘The drugs are arriving via Afghanistan enroute Rajasthan into this country. Why isn’t the central government ensuring no such illegal trade happens at the border area?’
On being questioned of internal rivalry within the BJP, he said ‘All the leaders are in support of Mr. Khanna and are working very hard to ensure he wins.’ He assured that when Khanna becomes a minister, he would bring many projects to the constituency. He also said that Khanna has and will do more work than all work done by Congress in the last 60 years for this region
BJP Lok Sabha candidate from Gurdaspur Shri Vinod Khanna, his wife Kavita Khanna, MLA Ashwini Sharma, District BJP President Narender Parmar were also present at the occasion.
