CHANDIGARH, DECEMBER 2: The Punjab Government has issued new guidelines regarding the use of land line telephones installed at the residences of state Government Officers.
Disclosing this, an official Spokesperson said that the guidelines issued on August 20, 2014 regarding the use of land line telephones installed at the residences of state Government Officers, have been amended. According to the spokesperson, no limit has been fixed for the land line and mobiles phones of Chief Secretary, Punjab. Whereas for Financial Commissioner, Principal Secretary, Administrative Secretary, Secretary and Advocate General the limit fixed is Rs. 3500 per month. For Departmental Heads, Special Secretaries/ Additional Secretary the limit has been fixed Rs. 2500 per month. For Chairman/Member PPSC, Joint Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Under Secretary (IAS/PCS) the limit has been fixed at Rs. 2000 per month. For Other Officers including Joint Secretary/Deputy Secretary/Under Secretary, PA/PS/ Secretary (PSS/FC Office Cadre) Rs. 1000 per month limit has been fixed.
The spokesperson further said that in case any officer uses internet by taking the internet connection a part from the one already installed at the Secretariat, then such officers would bear the cost so accrued themselves and the Government would not reimburse it. He said that if any officer wants to get the telephone/internet connection of BSNL or any other company then he/she is free to do so.
The spokesperson also informed that in case any officer wants to use Dongle instead of internet on the telephone installed in his home then the Government would have no objection but it would be the responsibility of the officer to ensure that the bill of Telephone/Mobile/Dongle installed at his home does not exceed the per month amount fixed by the Government. Any excess amount would be paid for by the concerned officer himself.
