Chandigarh, June 15: The Punjab Government today notified to nominate Mr. Sukhwant Singh Sarao as Member of Punjab Public Service Commission, who will take oath of office and secrecy soon.
Disclosing this here on Monday, an official spokesman said the State government has nominated Mr. Sarao considering his long and spotless administrative career and experience as professional advocate. He said that Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal has cleared the name of Mr. Sarao as Member of Punjab Public Service Commission. Mr. Sarao, who belongs to Sangrur district, had been member of Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana and practiced as an advocate at Judicial Courts Sunam from the year 1979 to 1984.
It is pertinent to mention here that Mr. Sarao had also served the Punjab Government as District Development and Panchayats Officer, Deputy Director and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) in various districts. He also worked as Deputy Director Panchayats and Principal of State Institute of Rural Development Nabha.
