CHANDIGARH, JUNE 6: The Punjab Government has constituted a State Level Drug Advisory Committee to suggest ways and means to the state government for curbing the drug abuse menace.
Disclosing this here today an official spokesperson the state government said that this committee comprising of 9 members would be headed by Commissioner, Food and Drug Administration whereas, State Drug Controller has been inducted in the committee as Member Secretary.
The other members of the committee included all the Assistant Drug Controllers, Punjab Government’s Analyst, Punjab Drug Testing laboratory, Chandigarh, Senior most ZLA, Mr. Surjit Singh Mehta, President Drug producer Chemist,Mr. Jagdip Singh, President Drug Manufacturing Association Mohali, Mr. Pawan Jain, former President Kharar Chemist Association and Amit Jain, President C & F Association, Jirakpur (Mohali).
The Spokesman further said that the term of this committee would be two years and committee would meet at least once in three months. This committee would advise State Drug Advisory Committee regarding sale manufacturing.
