Harminder Singh Jassi Ex MLA and Sh. Khushaldeep Singh Dhillon Ex MLA said that the pictures were taken just two weeks before Bittu Aulakh was arrested in case related to synthetic drug smuggling by Patiala police. He was manufacturing and supplying drug to other countries in collusion with international drug smuggler Jagdish Bhola a dismissed DSP of Punjab Police. Bittu Aulakh was present alongwith Mr. Bikram Majitha and other senior Akali leaders including Mr. Parminder Singh Dhindsa and Gulzar Singh Ranike and Akali MLA Harmit Singh when Davinder Singh Lalli was re-inducted into SAD.
The Congress leaders said that they had so many times warned against the activities of Mr. Bikram Singh Majithia who is promoting and protecting the drug mafia. They said that Mr. Majithia was the real king pin of the drug racket and his custodial interrogation can spill the beans. They said that Talbir Singh the Personal secretary of Mr. Majithia was seen in cozy conversation with Bittu Majithia.
The Congress leaders said that the drug racket exposed by Patiala police has reached almost dead end and police seems under pressure not to follow the leads given by the drug lords now in police custody. They said that since drug racket has national and international links, the probe shall be handed over the CBI immediately. They said that a fair investigation was no possible till the time Mr. Majithia would continue in the cabinet. They appealed to Chief Minister to dismiss Mr. Majithia from his cabinet and ask him to make himself available for the investigation of his role in the whole drug racket.
The Congress leaders said that the conduct of Mr. Sukhbir Badal Deputy Chief Minister who holds home portfolio also came under shadow for not allowing police to investigate the case properly. They said that there was no suspense about the links between SAD leadership and drug lords. Bittu Aulakh was also close to Mr. Rattan Singh Ajnala Akali MP from Khadoor Sahib and his son MLA Amarpal Singh Bonny.
The Congress leaders said that they would take the issue to streets to expose the Akali leaders who are hand in glove with the drug mafia. They said that blaming center government for smuggling of drugs from across the border was only an ploy of the Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal to divert the attention of people from the real culprits. They said that Mr. Badal being Chief Patron of SAD was fully responsible for the criminal acts of his cabinet ministers particularly Mr. Majithia.
The Congress Leaders said that Pradesh Congress will organize a Dharna in Bathinda on 28.11.2013 against this Drug mafia in Punjab, S. Partap Singh Bajwa MP & President PPCC will lead the Dharna. More Dharnas will be planed across the State to make people aware about the involvement of ruling SAD-BJP government with Drug Mafia in Punjab.
