Chandigarh: May 24: A delegation of the senior leaders of the Punjab Congress met the Punjab Governor today and submitted a memorandum to him on the current Punjab situation.
It demanded from the Governor that before the Punjab may again pushed in to the dark era of turmoil and violence and lawlessness, the government led by S. Parkash Singh Badal be dismissed and the imposition of the Governor rule in Punjab be ordered before it is too late. Earlier in the day an appointment was sought for a delegation of the MLAs of the Punjab Congress Led By Mrs. Rajinder Kaur Bhattat. Since Mrs Bhattal and other 39 congress MLAs were taken in to police custody, in their absence it was decided there and then that memorandum may be submitted by five senior congress leaders to the Governor on their behalf. They included Sh. Mohinder Singh Kaypee, Working President of The PCC, Sh. Bir Devinder Singh Chief Spokesman PCC, Sh. Mohinder Singh Gill Former President PCC, Col CD Singh Kamboj , Dr. Harbans Lal Former Minister and Sh. Rajpal Singh Gen, Secretary , PCC.
