In the complaint submitted to DGP Punjab in connection with murder of his son Gagandeep, Gurbax Bains had mentioned that Gagandeep told him that Zorawar had not passed his BTech degree as on 31.7.2010 which was the last date of submission of BTech DMCs. This secret had come to Gagandeep’s notice incidentally when he overheard a senior teacher who was pointing out to Zorawar to pass his BTech exam. Zorawar had warned Gagandeep not to let this secret out. In Aug’10, Thapar University had conducted a Genesis-10 fair in which differences between Gagandeep and Zorawar had hardened. Gurbax Bains wrote to Registrar, Thapar University thereby pointing out the illegality committed by them by retaining Zorawar in MBA course after 31.7.2010 which was against the university’s own rules of admission.
The university has now terminated Zorawar from the MBA course. Had the university not allowed Zorawar to continue in MBA course after 31.7.2010 as per rules, he would have neither taken part in Genesis-10 nor any bad blood have been created which ultimately resulted in murder of Gagandeep and his friend Gaurav.
Gurbax Bains has demanded an inquiry as to why Zorawar was retained in university after 31.7.2010 when he was not fulfilling the conditions laid down by the Thapar University itself. He has said that entertaining ingenuine demands of SDM Patiala to retain his ineligible son in university has made Thapar University commit the mistake leading to loss of two precious lives.
This is very bad. The culprits must be given a death penalty in this crime as this is rarest of rare heinous crime they have committed in murdering two MBA students. Thapar University should also be punished for admitting a criminal in a post graduate course who has not even passed his graduation.
