28 April : NSUI Punjab continued its protest over the inaction of the LPU authorities over the death of the mizoram student. Nearly 200 students lead by the NSUI president, Gobind Khatra and other office bearers viz. Brinder Dhillon,Harpreet Multani and babu Jatana. the students sat on a dharna in front of the LPU gate and demanded immediate action over the issue and release of compensation to the family of the deceased. When no one from the LPU paid any heed to the protesting students and no one from the management even bothered to meet them then the students decided to start a hunger strike. At last the student representatives Gobind Khatra, Brinder Dhillon,Harpreet Multani and Babu Jatana were invited by the senior management for talks where the student representatives repeated their demand of action against the guilty and adequate compensation to the family of the deceased.“The meeting with the senior management did not yield any result and we are surprised over the insensitive attitude of the LPU Authorities. The LPU is just concerned with its reputation as admissions are round the corner. They are terming it as an accident time and again and are shedding their responsibility regarding the same.We are committed to bring the said matter to a logical conclusion, whatever come may,” said Gobind Khatra
