Mohali, March 28 : An anti rabies vaccination and public awareness camp was organized at village Mataur, in sector 70 here today by mohali branch of Society for prevention of cruelty to animals(SPCA).
The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Raj Kumar Arora senior veterinary officer kharar. Dr. Desh Deepak Goel Gen. Secy of the society said that 101 stray and pet dogs were vaccinated during the camp against rabies disease. They were also given medicine for skin ailments and deworming. Besides 9 horses were vaccinated against tetanus.
On the occasion Mr. Amanpreet Singh Sandhu President SPCA demanded that Mohali administration should allocate a permanent shelter cum hospital space on priority basis to SPCA Mohali so that the wounded that and hapless animals could be treated and taken care of. Dr. R.N. Sharma appeal to the public to be kind and sympathetic towards the ailing the helpless animals and also sensitized the public about anti cruelty laws.
A team of doctors including Dr. R.P. Singh, Dr. Shashi Saini, Dr. Archna and Dr. Jaspreet Kaur made this camp successful besides active contribution by S. Lachman Singh, Harpal Singh and Ranjit Singh Members of SPCA.
