MOHALI, SEPT 30 :Delhi shuttlersd dominated the CBSE North Zone-I Badminton Championship as schools from the National captial had a lion’s share as out of six titles at stake they claim five. Bal Bharti Public School (boys Under-14), New Era Public School (boys Under-16), Holi Child Public School (girls Under-16), Adarsh Shiksha Niketan (boys Under-19) adn Apee Jay Public School (girls Under-19) emerged champions in the respective groups at the Multipurpose Hall of Shivalik Public School here today.BL Central School of Solan denied the Delhi schools a clean sweep as their girls team defeated Hansraj Public School of Panchkula by 2-1 in the girls under-14 team championship final. The Solan school started on a losing note as Shythm lost to Gyatri in the first singles by 13-21, 11-21. Priya neutralised the lead defeating Anandita by 21-9, 21-6 in the second singles. Rythm and Priya defeated Hansraj Public School pair of Gyatri and Anandita by 21-15, 21-13.
Bal Bharati Public School of Delhi ended the challenge of DC Model of Panchkula by 2-1 in the boys Under-14 final. Rishab was the star performer for Bal Bharti as he won two matches. In the first singles, Rishab defeated Shubham 21-11, 21-10 and later in association with Shitij, Rishab accounted for the DC Model pair of Shubham and Abhijit 21-17, 23-21 to clinch the title. In between Shitij was beaten by Abhjit of DC Model in the second singles by 21-17, 18-21, 21-8.
Jayank and Nitish played power-packed games to win their singles with ease as Adarsh Shiksha Niketan of Delhi outplayed AG DAV School, also of Delhi by 2-0 in the boys under-19 team championship final. Jayank defeated Deepak by 21-12, 21-14 and Nitsh accounted for Tushar 21-7, 21-12.
Apee Jay beat Holi Child, both of Delhi in the girls under-19 team championship final by 2-0. Sanskriti beat Gagandeep 21-18, 21-10 and Niharika outplayed Chati Gulati 21-6, 21-16.
Mr Pushkar Vohra, Assistant Education Officer, CBSE, Delhi was the chief guest and distributed the prizes. SPS Principal-Director DS Bedi welcomed the chief guest who was impressed with the facilities available in Shivalik Public School.

Boys Under-16: New Era Public School, Delhgi bt Rukmani Devi Public School, Delhi 2-0 (Sachin bt Vaibhav 21-14, 21-18, Shtijbt Mannan 21-9, 21-15).
