Barinder Saluja, Chandigarh,Oct. 23 : Terming his expulsion from the party as ‘political murder’ or as he said “Siasi Katal”, former finance minister of Punjab Manpreet Badal announced on Thursday that he will start his journey for the goal ahead on November 14. He said, ”I will go and take blessings at Harmandir Sahib and Durgiana Mandir and will also visit Jallianwala Bagh before deciding my next course of action.”
Manpreet, who himself is not sure about his future as member of the Assembly after his expulsion from cabinet and subsequently from the party, said, ”I will not leave this fight for financial crisis in Punjab in the middle and will take it to a logical end.”
About resigning as MLA from Gidderbaha, the former minister clarified,”I had gone to my constituency and had taken feedback of the voters, who have sent me to the Assembly but they have directed me not to resign.”
Manpreet, however, agreed that his fight for a debt-ridden state went beyond economic concerns because of his frustration.
”I was frustrated that this agenda of discussing Punjab’s debt-waiver issue with Centre was kept on hold for 60 days. I wanted to bring it forward and it was urgency.
When I spoke in the Assembly I could not have kept the house unaware of what negotiations were on between the Centre and the state,” he stated.
Defying the allegations levelled by CM Parkash Singh Badal and deputy CM Sukhbir Badal, he said increasing the income of the state was the need of the hour and ”I am not the only one advocating for it. Infact Sukhbir-Kaalia-commette has already recommended levying of house tax and billing of tube wells”.He said, ”I will go and take blessings at Harmandir Sahib and Durgiana Mandir and will also visit Jallianwala Bagh before deciding my next course of action.”
