LUDHIANA, March 13: Union Information and Broadcasting Minister and sitting MP from Ludhiana Manish Tewari will start his campaign after the completion of the selection process of the candidates for the coming parliamentary elections.
Disclosing this here today Ludhiana District Congress Committee (urban) president Pawan Dewan said, since Tewari was involved in the selection and finalisation of the candidates for across the country he could not come to Ludhiana right now. He said, once the selection process of the candidates is complete Tewari will come to Ludhiana and start his election campaign.
Having a dig at his opponents Dewan said, those who were questioning the absence of Tewari should better realise that he has been already here for the last ten years. “Unlike some seasonal birds who are seen these days roaming in the streets of Ludhiana, Tewari has been here for all these years”, he said, while adding, he has already covered all the villages and wards twice during the last five years.
The Ludhiana District president said, Tewari does not need any introduction as people know him too well. “They also understand that besides being an MP from Ludhiana, Tewari is also a minister, a spokesman and a senior leader of the party who is involved in lot of other party work also”, Dewan said, while adding, that is the reason that he could not be around for a few days.
