Ludhiana, November 6. Harvest Tennis Academy shall conduct the prestigious AITA NATIONALS Tennis Tournament of Boys and Girls Under-16 (Singles & Doubles), at its Harvest Tennis Academy, Village: Jassowal (Kular), Tehsil: Jagraon, Distt.: Ludhiana (Pb.), from November 8-14, 2008. This tournament is being conducted under the auspicious of Punjab Lawn Tennis Association & All India Tennis Association (AITA). Never in the history, Tennis Nationals have been played in Punjab. This is for the first time this tournament is being conducted outside Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai. There will be about 160 leading tennis players participating from all over India.
Top ranked players from all over India are participating in this National tournament in the Harvest Tennis Academy, from 8th to 14th November, 2008. Disclosing this here today Ms. Simmy Saran, Vice President, Harvest Tennis Academy, stated that the Main draw for Boys will be of 64 (52 DA, 8 Qualifiers, 4 wild cards) and for Girls will be 48 (36 DA, 8 Qualifiers, 4 Wild cards). The Qualifying Draw for both Boys and Girls will be open. The draw for doubles event would be of 16 with 14 direct entries and 2 wildcards. All Main Draw matches will be best of three sets. The Qualifying format for Nationals will be best of 17 games. However, the last match in the qualifying will be best of three tiebreak sets.
The qualifying round matches for Boys will be played on 8th and 9th November, 2008, and Girls will be on 9th and 10th November, while the main draw matches will be played from Monday, the 10th November, 2008.
Interested players are required to get their names registered in the office of Harvest Tennis Academy between 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on 7th November, 2008 (Boys) and 8th November (Girls), in person. All interested players must carry their ITN Card for the entry.
