LUDHIANA, February 17: Ludhiana District Congress Committee president Pawan Dewan today expressed grave concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Ludhiana.
He also demanded that the sensational murder case of the DSP alongwith a woman be handed over to the CBI as the police had either failed in its investigations or were deliberately concealing the truth. He said, there were serious apprehensions among the public and the family members of the victims that on the one hand police had failed in investigations and on the other hand had defamed them.
Referring to the increasing incidents of crime of grave nature in the city, he said, more shocking was that the police were still groping in the dark.
Dewan pointed out, the police was still clueless about the killing of a DSP and a woman while some more murders had taken place after that. He said, the police seemed to have lost control of the situation and has already given up.
The Congress leader said, people have lost faith in police and no body was feeling safe and nobody dares to venture out without running the risk of being robbed, looted or physically harmed.
