Chandigarh, October 10, 2016 : Terming Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Khoon Ki Dalali’ remark as uncalled for and unfortunate, BJP national secretary Tarun Chugh said it was all the more shameful that entire senior leadership of Congress was defending the ridiculous utterance just to please their master and AICC vice-president.
Tarun Chugh said Congress was ignoring the anguish of enraged people of the country who were hurt by such a deplorable comment. He said it was the failure of Congress as a party that it could not gauge the sentiment of the people who were standing behind a decisive Prime Minister and the brave soldiers of the country.
Chugh said even as Rahul Gandhi stooped too low to play politics on this issue of national importance and senior Congress leadership preferred Rahul over the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi led NDA government was committed to fight terrorism and protect the borders of the country.
He said that nonsensical utterances of senior Congress leaders like Kapil Sibal, Digvijaya Singh and Sanjay Nirupam etc. have not only surprised the intelligentsia but also enraged the people who had been demanding action against the terrorist both within the country and across the LoC.
The BJP leader said that after its humiliating defeat in 2014 elections, as the Congress tally went down to a dismal forty-four, it was presumed that the party would learn lesson and try to bring itself closer to the reality and respect the sentiments of the people, but it has sadly failed to gauge its performance and make amends.
Chugh said the ‘Khoon Ki Dalali’ remark has not only shown the immaturity of Rahul Gandhi but has also exposed the shallowness of Congress and people have begun to doubt Congress’ credentials as a nationalist party.
He recalled that this was not for the first time that Rahul has gone against the sentiments of the people and interests of the country. He had defended students who raised anti-national slogans inside the JNU campus and didn’t utter a single word against those who did so.
The BJP national secretary said the government, the NDA and the party was proud of surgical strikes carried by the brave soldiers of Indian Army but no one wants to politicize the issue but still have to defend the pride and honour of the soldiers who executed a meticulously planned action successfully which conveyed a strong message to Pakistan that India won’t take the things lying down.
