By Pardeep Luthra, BATALA: The ongoing tussle difference the local BJP MLA, Jagdish Sahni and former District president, Naresh Mahajan again comes into fore on the eve of Jan Chetna Yatra initiated by BJP leader LK Advani, with the supporters of both these BJP leaders installed many hoarding in favour of their respective leaders.
It is worth to be mention here that the picture of Jagdish Sahni is missing from the hoarding, which was installed by the supporters of Naresh Mahajan and on the other hand, the picture of Naresh Mahajan and his supporting councilors is missing from the hoardings which was installed by the Sahni supporters which engulfed further enmity between the two BJP leaders. The supporters of both the leaders were seen bickering over occupying all the prominent reception spots, which will be on the route of the yatra of the senior BJP leader.
The war between these leaders was not limited up to ‘welcome hoardings’ but their supporters were seen fighting over the occupying the key reception places for installing their stages, where they will hold a show of strength to impress Advani. Naresh Mahajan, who is also getting support from District BJP, President, Vivek Modgill, had installed his welcome stage at Railway road while Sahni had installed his stage at main Gandhi Chowk, where his daughter and local Municipal council president, Ambika Khanna along with a huge gathering a more than 5000 workers welcomed Advani and other senior BJP leaders.
Seeking party ticket in the forthcoming assembly elections, Sahni had also organized another function at Naushera Majha Singh, where he will leave no stone unturned to show his strength to the BJP leadership. It is pertinent to mention here that many of the local BJP office bearers including General Secretary, Ashok Modgill, Executive Member of State BJP, Harinder Singh and District Vice-President, Harjit Singh Bhalla remained absent from the function. Meanwhile about two dozens of activists of shiromani akali dal(Amritsar) allegedly shown black flags and raised pro khalistan slogan in rout to the jan chetna ytra of L.K.Advani on the outskirts of Batala town. Police reached at the spot and rounded up 23 activists in the custody.
