Following the ordinance of the Central Govt., Govt. of Punjab decided to have its PMET 2016 and was fixed for 11 June, because of paucity of effective nodes to conduct this examination, University made few centreout side the state and accepting the wish of the public, Chief Minister of Punjab and Sh. Anil Joshi,Medical Education Minister, Punjab desired to have PMET only in the state of Punjab. After taking feedback from the parents from few centers, University compelled the agency entrusted for this work to enhance the infrastructure so that ambience of the centers should be comfortable for the students.
In order to accommodate all students, the examination was designed in two shifts with two set of papers essentially from the same examiner to keep the level of questions with similar mind set of examiners.
In the morning shift as this was first experience of the students of +2 level in Punjab for online PMET, many students visited the centre with old admit cards whereas there centre was shifted to some other place, in order to make there first time online experience seamless University took decision to accommodate the students in the same centre out of the buffer nodes kept for any emergency. As many as 40 such students were accommodated across the Punjab in the first shift and In the second shift, 80 candidates from the morning shifts were placed on the buffer nodes available at various centre conveniently to the candidates.
A few students those came late were guided to appear in the second shift in the same centre or any other centre where the buffer nodes were available. In one centre, few students after coming out of the examination in the first shift loaded their whatsapp with some memory based questions of Biology which students of the second shifts started preparing while those who had by that time entered in the center in the second shift could not avail that benefit which resulted in to apprehension among the parents of those students ,Vice Chancellor personally satisfied the parents ensuring them that the questions which are coming in the 2nd shift would be totally different and those who mugged up such questions on the whatapp in 1st shift will not be benefited which brought relief to their stress. University through its observers did not register any other problem in any centre of the state of Punjab. Thus in total 7292 candidates are appeared in first shift and 7397 candidates appeared in the second shift.
University shall load both the question paper as well as their respective keys on its website as per the instruction of the Hon’ble Punjab and Haryana High Court to raise any objection within 48 hour after which the result would be declared.
