Gurdaspur, April 25:The Ex-servicemen of the Gurdaspur Parliamentary constituency today extended total support to the Congress candidate and the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President, Mr. Partap Singh Bajwa, here today. In massive show of strength by the ex-servicemen of Gurdaspur Parliamentary Constituency led by Retd. Brig. Kuleep Singh Kahlon. The ex-servicemen thanked Mr. Bajwa for the implementation of One Renk – One Pension by UPA Govt. They assured Mr. Bajwa of full support in the parliament election due on 30 April.
They felicitated Mr. Bajwa at a rally for his initiative to get the long pending demand of the ex-servicemen implemented by taking it up with the Congress vice-president, Mr. Rahul Gandhi.
Mr. Bajwa said despite the notification having been issued by the UPA government, the BJP was trying to create confusion which amounted to playing with the sentiments of the ex-servicemen. Mr. Bajwa speaking at the rally reminded the ex-servicemen that after 32 years UPA government has met the a long pending demand of one rank – one pension. He said UPA Govt. has taken this cause to a logical end in favour of ex-servicemen. He assured that Congress party will always stand by the ex-servicemen community.
