Pardeep Luthra , BATALA: As many as eight persons including four congressmen and four akalis were injured in a clash at village Dult under Fatehgarh Churrian constituency, here today.
According to the information available, today afternoon a clash took place between akalis and congressmen at village Dult outside booth number 70. Within no time, the workers of both the parties called on their supporters and started stone pelting on eachother during which eight persons were injured and were rushed to various hospitals.
Getting information, Deputy Commissioner, Gurdaspur, Abhinav Trika alongwith a heavy police force rushed to the spot and control the situation.
The injured were identified as Harbhajan Singh, Dalip Singh, Manjinder Singh, Akashdeep Singh.
During initial investigations, the Fatehgarh Churrian police have took into custody three persons Paramjeet Singh, Lakhbir Singh and Dalbir Singh, though no case has been registered against them till the filling of report.
Talking to media persons at local civil hospital, Fatehgarh Churrian MLA, Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa alleged that foreseeing their defeat, the akali were trying to terrorise the congress workers through these cheap tactics. He said that the people of state were fed by the dictatorial policies of the ruling SAD-BJP government and through these elections, they had taught lesson to them.
