Ghuman (Gurdaspur), April 4: On the second day of 88thedition of the Akhil Bhartiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan (ABMSS), a debate on Marathi language today, in which the participants were Chief Editor of Marathi TV Channel ABP Majha Mr Raj Khandekar, state artist Mr Sanjay Mohne, film actor Mr Mohan Joshi, prominent Marathi writer Mr Rajan Khan, Marathi writer Mr Sudhir Gadiar, All India Radio officer Rasika Deshmukh.
Participating in the debate Mr Sanjay Mohne said that the Marathi language of Pune area could be the authentic language because there is some difference in Marathi dialect in different parts. The experts also spoke on length about the development of Marathi language and discussed that due to growth of languages such as English, other languages such as Hindi and other regional might get into danger. They said that due to globalization, English cannot be ignored, but we should all not forget our mother languages. Marathi writer Mr Rajan Khan said that like Bhagat Namdev Ji was well worse in Marathi as well as other languages, all of us should also have knowledge about other languages.
In the Marathi Kavi Sammelan, a total of 40 poets participated, which included Ramdas Futne, Sandeep Khare, Vayab Joshi, besides several others.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Governor of Sikkim Mr Shriniwas Dadasaheb Patil, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Punjab, Mr Des Raj Dhugga, Chief Organisor Mr Bharat Dasela, chief of Sarhad organisation Mr Sanjay Nahar, Deputy Commissioner Dr Abhinav Trikha, SSP Mr Inderbir Singh, Pune University vice chancellor Dr Vasudev Gare, Group Editor of Dainik Bhaskar Mr Prakash Dubey, prominent singer and actor Mr Avdoot Gupte, famous actress Murnal Dev Kulkarni, film actor Mohan Joshi, besides several others.
