Ludhiana, December 18: Rakesh Pandey, MLA from North assembly constituency and District Congress Committee (Urban) president Pawan Dewan have said the Congress party believed in politics of development without any discrimination.
They were addressing a gathering after inaugurating various Rs.56 lakh development works including widening of bridge near Bhadaur House (Ward No.35) here today. They said there would be the provision of one way traffic from Bhadaur House side after the start Lakkar Bridge Flyover. As such the importance of that particular bridge would be more significant, they added. They said the work of widening of the bridge had been got started to get rid of the traffic problems in the future.
The Congress leaders further said that all other pending development works in the lanes and mohallas would also been got started in the near future. They said no discrimination would be done to anybody as far as development of the city was concerned, adding they appealed people to extend cooperation in carrying out development works.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Leader of the Opposition in the general house of Ludhiana Municipal Corporation Sushma Mehta and Congress councillors Group spokesman Parminder Mehta said pending works of street lights and installation of tubewells for ensuring the adequate supply of drinking water would also be started in the ward concerned soon.
Among others, Manpreet Grewal, Himanshu Walia, Lucky Kapoor, Sita Ram Shankar, Sohan Singh and Mastan Singh were present.
