5 Dec :Swami Vivekanand Institute of Engineering and Technology (SVIET) added another feather to its cap as Arjit Bhargawa, B.Tech 3rd year SVIET student (along with his team members) was short listed for finals in ‘NEXUS’ 2008, the first National Solobotics Championship organized by IIT, Mumbai for North zone. The prelims for this event was held at Thapar University, Patiala. It consisted of a drag race which included racing ‘Bots’ on 1m table. A large number of teams participated in the competition, filled with the fanaticism to prove that their ‘bots’ are the best.
Arjit bagged 2nd position, completing the lap in a record time of 1.81 seconds. His ‘bot’ consisted of 4 solar panels arranged serially. It produces a power of 200 mA at 2v. He will now display his talent at IIT Mumbai in January, 2009 where all the zonal winners will compete. His endeavours have been appreciated by the management of SVIET.
CEO, SVGOI, Shri Manmohan Garg, lauded the efforts of Arjit and motivated him to strive harder to prove his best. To add up, he further stated, ‘Sky is not the Limit’ for those who believe in themselves.
