Pardeep Luthra , Gurdaspur, 24 April 2014: BJP Candidate from Gurdaspur Lok Sabha constituency Shri Vinod Khanna today lashed out at his Congress rival Pratap Singh Bajwa and said that ‘Bajwa was the king of corruption in Punjab Congress.’
He said, just like his party members at the Centre, Bajwa had looted the state during his tenure as the PWD minister in the Amrinder Singh Government.
Opening a frontal assault on Bajwa, the three time MP and former cabinet minister said , “Bajwa’s involvement in massive governmental corruption as in Bitumen scam, and massive land grabs is known.’ ‘That apart, his direct support to drug dons and terrorists as listed in the letter of the former Chief Minister , Captain Amarinder Singh to the AICC president, Sonia Gandhi just exposes his dirty linen in public.’ Khanna added
Speaking to people during his rally at Pathankot today, he said that there is no heinous crime in which Bajwa’s name has not been linked to at one time or another, including the conspiracy to assassinate former Chief Minister Beant Singh, necessitating the interrogation of Bajwa’s brother, and the infamous call-girl scandal in Gujarat.
He asked the public if they want a leader whose name has appeared in all major state scams as their MP?
Later attacking the UPA he said, ‘UPA’s scam success rate is very high. Who can imagine a government to indulge into one big corruption scandal after the other. Only UPA is capable of this.’ Listing out UPA’s corruption scandals, he said that 2G, Coal gate, Adarsh, CWG, the just the names of some of the many scams that had cost lakhs of crores to the exchequer. He said that Congress has looted much more than what they have invested in their so called ‘Bhatrat Nirman’ activities over 60 years
‘C stands for both Congress and Corruption. In the last 10 years Congress party has become synonymous to Corruption,’ he added. He further said that the Sikh Prime Minister, who did not take action against his corrupt ministers, was however treated as a puppet, and the power rested in the hands of one family.
Lashing out at the UPA for providing step motherly treatment to Punjab, he said ‘Congress had always meted out step motherly treatment to the opposition-ruled states in general and Punjab in particular.’
He blamed the sitting Congress MP Pratap Singh Bajwa for not getting any assistance from the centre to develop the Gurdaspur Lok Sabha region.
