Chandigarh June 16: Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today directed the Advocate General Punjab Mr. Hardev Singh Mattewal to personally review the entire matter and according initiate legal proceedings to get the stay vacated granted on May 28 by the Punjab & Haryana High Court in the case of the appointments of the school teachers made by the State Government.
An assurance to this effect was given by Mr. Badal to the 4-member deputation of Punjab Un-employed BEd Teachers Front lead by its president Mr. Sukhdarshan Singh which called on him at his official residence this morning. The deputation urged the Chief Minister to expedite the process of finalization of the appointment letters to approximately 14,000 selected teachers and service providers before the start of the academic session for 2008-09.
The meeting was attended by the Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr. D.S.Guru apart from other members of the front including Mr. Shamsher Singh Shera, Mr. Jugraj Singh Zira, Mr. Jagtar Singh and Mr. Preet Bhagwan.
