Jalalabad, April 14: Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal has made it clear in no uncertain terms that the pace of development would not be allowed to slacken and the success journey of Punjab on road to prosperity would continue unabated.
He expressed these views while addressing vast gatherings during sangat darshan here at villages Mohkam Arian , Dhani Jaj Singh Dhani Hazara Singh, Dhani Phula Singh, Dhandi Khurd, Dhani Natha Singh and Dhandi Kadim. While laying foundation stones for CC Flooring in all streets and 100 percent water supply at these villages, he reiterated his commitment that no dearth of funds would be allowed to hamper the developmental activities being carried out by the Punjab Government. He informed that state government welfare initiatives include atta dal, pension scheme, shagan scheme, much mantra tirath yatra scheme, power subsidy of 5600 crore per annum to farmers with free power worth Rs. 32000 crore given till date, opening of tubewell connections for farmers with less than 2.5 acres land, 1.20 lakh soon to be advertised government jobs, skill centers for youth training and releasing of 1.65 lakh tubewell connections.
Announcing his plans for development of Jalalabad, he said that the constituency would be given a beautified look and a sum ranging from Rs. 5-10 crore would be spent under MGNREGA for all round development of jalalabad. He also announced other developmental initiatives like— Rs. 10 lakh for stadium at Mohram Arian, Dharamshala at ghumiaran di basti, cleaning of ponds by JCB, Gym for youth, 25 submersible bore for dhanis, 2 anganwadi centers at the cost of Rs. 7.50 Lakh, Rs. 4 lakh for cremation ground and underground pipe for panchayat land.
He also said that state government’s new initiative of health insurance scheme would benefit 11 lakh farmer families who could avail treatment upto Rs. 50000 annually through a smart card. Accidental death cover of 5 lakh has also been granted besides giving benefit to blue card holders, small traders and construction workers.
The Deputy Chief Minister also said that the vast amount of development projects being executed had unnerved the opposition parties who are day dreaming about coming to power. He said that people of Punjab have seen through the nefarious designs of AAP whose leaders give one statement in Punjab while singing different tune in Delhi. He also divulged that recent incident of demolition if a ‘Piau’ at Gurudwara Sisganj Sahib in Delhi and anti-Punjab stand in Supreme Court on SYL issue has unmasked the real face of AAP.
Attacking on congress, he said that its entire history is replete with anti-panthic and anti-Punjab acts and it has always stabbed Punjab in the back. On the other side, SAD has always protected interests of Punjabi people.
